Straight outta Vienna

Straight outta Vienna

Vienna People has (finally!) broken through the space time continuum to join the blogging world, so we can keep you up to date with all the happenings at the studio (and much more!)

Textually tune in to us every week to hear about the projects we’re undertaking, the music we’re making, the boundaries we’re breaking, and the tunes leaving our bodies shaking!

This week sees the finishing of Jess Starrevelds’ EP, ‘Late night drive’. We’ve had the best time on this project, and it’s had it fair share of legends being involved. Harry Brus pulled the greatest bass tone i’ve heard, Dave Scotland can play the guitar even when he’s not playing the guitar, no one can groove like Jamie Cameron behind a kit, and to have Dave Richards help mix, and King Willy Bowden master has really topped off an all around glorious couple of weeks.

Jess is a beautiful songwriter, a great keyboard player and one of the easiest singers we’ve recorded – we wish her loads of success with this EP and her trip to the US this week!

We will be revamping our website in the coming few weeks – our friend Carly from Blueprint studios in Alexandria – bands needing photos check them out @ www.blueprintstudios.com.au – took some great photos at a studio party last month that we can’t wait to show off.

In other news, Vienna People is now a rehearsal studio! All of the bands we have recorded lately had been commenting on how bad the sound was when they were rehearsing for big gigs, and so we decided to offer the service of a rehearsal space, with an engineer to record and mix your session – 3 hours with a cd for each band member at the end – only $140.

Coming up at Vienna People – EP’s for Addicted beach + Stef Jamal, and albums for Cam Nacson, Little May and finally finishing Joe Kellys’ record – it’s all happening and we’re excited!!
